little house

Oh have you seen Little House lately?!! It's perfect for me right now because the frames don't move too fast, and the only food they show is ma pulling out bread from the oven. I can't get over how sucked in I get to these episodes. I called my sister yesterday after having watched the episode The Blizzard. I started crying at some point in the middle of the show, and by the end it was the ugly cry. And then the show was over and I still was ugly crying.

Annika watched Little House faithfully when she little and she claims all of her forehead wrinkles are from watching this show and the worry and heartache she took upon herself on behalf of the Ingalls.

Anyway, if you're looking for a good gift for some girls in your life, I can think of few things better than the books or the dvd's.

TOTALLY and completely agree! Absolutely my favorite show growing up, and still ranks up there among my all-time faves.

Of COURSE I remember the blizzard episode!

Remember the one where Carrie fell into the well?

Where Mr. Edwards trudges through the snow to bring the girls their gifts?

Where they found gold in the creek but it turned out to be just "fool's gold"?

Where Pa has to (gasp!) shoot Bunny?

And so many more. Loved the books. Loved the series. I've contemplated getting the series on DVD, but I'm not sure I would watch it.

Still, your post and my visceral reaction to it is telling me that yes, perhaps indeed I would find the time... :)

Thanks for the visit down memory lane!

Oh my word!!! This is also my favorite, I have seasons 1-3, working on getting the rest:) and the special Christmas episode, LOVE it! I wish I had the Hallmark channel to watch it the four times a day it's on:) I'm pretty sure I cried watching the blizzard one as well.

I've been meaning to do a post about the show and how sometimes I wished I lived in that time, it would be interesting:)

Hope you start feeling better soon!

YES! It's our Forced Family Fuin Night thing to do (FFFNites):) The rule is ALL 5 of us have to be home to watch. Then we usually watch 2 or 3 episodes at a time. jack and Josie always like to do their "dance" to the closing theme song. We are only up into season 3,so my kids have no idea what happens..wink wink to those of you who have seen all 12 seasons as a little girl on NBC monday nights! I figure at the rate we are going, I'll be a grandma and we will only be on season 7 to get us ALL sitting together! Looking forward to Christmas break..I think we can squeeze at least 12 shows in !! Yeah! I love every minute watching Little house with my kids. It's priceless! Enjoy Bec!

Beth! The craziest thing, is that Little House is spankin new to me. I haven't seen any of these episodes before. You and Annika are the same age and I think I must have been just to little to really take interest. But I'm interested now!

Lacy, I agree that that time of life looks so charming. It also looks like a ton of work. But sometimes when I see Laura just sitting in a tree watching the stream I think, "I need to sit in a tree more often."

And Lisa! Forced Family Fun Night. Brilliant. I want to see the closing credits dance and I want to copy this idea with my family someday.

I had no idea I have 12 seasons ahead!!! WhaaaHoooo!!!

I cried again, watching the episode, "Little Women" when that little girl cuts her hair to pay for her mom's dress so she can come to the play. Ugly cry. Again.
